Four-Player Hex is a four-player team variation of Hex. Each player owns one side of the board, and opposite players are partners.
Team Blue
Blue owns the top side and Red owns the bottom side. Blue and Red stones count as one connected team chain.
Team Yellow
Yellow owns the right side and White owns the left side. Yellow and White stones count as one connected team chain.
Turns
Turns move clockwise: Blue → Yellow → Red → White, repeating around the board.
On a turn, the active player places one stone of their own color on any empty hex.
Stones never move, capture, or leave the board.
The starting player rotates when New Game is pressed so each side gets a chance to open.
Team Win
A team wins when its two allied colors form one continuous chain between its opposite sides. The colors may mix anywhere in the winning chain.
Example: Blue → Blue → Red → Blue → Red is a valid Team Blue connection.
Boss Win
A Boss Win happens when one player connects from their own side all the way to their partner's opposite side using only their own color. A Boss Win is credited to that individual player instead of being recorded as a normal team win.
Winning Display
Team connections are marked with a green winning path while keeping every stone's original color. A Boss Win receives a gold path and crown marks.
